WHY DON'T YOU BELIEVE IN MUSIC IN THE CHURCH?
You may have heard that we are "the church that doesn't believe in music in worship" because when you are in our worship assemblies you will not hear mechanical or electronic instruments of music. This is not because we don't believe in music. Nor is it because we could not afford instruments. It is, however, because we want to be guided by what you can read about in the New Testament for the church.
Vocal music is exclusively spoken of and practiced, according to the New Testament scriptures as well as church history through the first few centuries of the church's existence. Some scriptures you may want to read are Ephesians 5:19 and Colossians 3:16. We sing in "acapella" style, as a congregation, without special singers and "worship entertainers. "We use hymn books with songs that are scripturally true and aesthetically rendered. In fact, the current preacher is also a professional hymn writer with many published and recorded hymns.
