WHAT KIND OF CHURCH ARE YOU? |
| We are not a cult. We do not require that
individuals give up their minds, opinions, desire for truth, or their
material possessions to be affiliated with us. We are not a part of any
"denomination" for the New Testament does not speak of the
church of Jesus in the first century being divided into different churches
with different names,
creeds, doctrines, but all calling themselves the "church of
Christ." We are opposed to such confusion and division. We are not a
"community" church with members linked solely by a social and/or
emotional connection to each other. We are not a political action group which becomes involved in political activities as a congregation, though our members individuals, as free citizens of this great nation, are urged to participate as their conscience dictates and as the Bible recommends (Romans 13; I Timothy ). We are not a secret lodge, or exclusive club, letting no one else in who does not meet human requirements. However, we are an independent, self-governing local congregation of baptized believers in Jesus Christ who accept Him and Him only as the Head of the church. We believe we are guided and authorized to worship and work for Him according to the teachings of Jesus and the apostles of Jesus recorded in the New Testament scriptures. We are people who live in this community with a desire to serve Jesus Christ, encourage and teach others to do so, and serve our neighbors out of love for them. |
